A didgeridoo (also didjeridu, didjeridoo, didjeridus> is a traditional musical wind instrument that originated as long ago as 10 000 BC in the Northern areas of Australia. Initially, didgeridoos were used for ceremonial purposes and corroborees in accompaniment to dancers. The didgeridoo was also used to imitate the sound of animals. Today, its unique range of tones has made the didgeridoo a specialist instrument used by players all over the world.
