from the Star of the congo Mine in Kalukuluku, Lubumbashi in the Katanga Province of the Congo. this is a lg cabinet sized piece measuring . It consists of a breccia matrix that forms a chrysocolla and malchite cover vug of crystals. The chrysocolla is deposited in multiple alternating layers with malachite. It forms boitroydal ball like formations that in turn host sparkling emerald malachite crystals. The malachite is somewhat chatoyant and there is some velvet malchite on the piece also.
