Utterly different, and highly original, Ammonite plaques will make a real visual impact wherever they are displayed. The Ammonites are sourced within a large piece of rock, which is then excavated. A skilled artisan carefully uncovers the Ammonite fossils, and polishes them whilst leaving them upon the rock (called the matrix) in which they were discovered. As a result, the surrounding rock forms a natural frame in which the Ammonites are beautifully displayed. The surrounding stone is variously highly polished, or is enhanced by gentle tapping with a chisel to give a speckling effect, or, simply chiselled to create a raw, rough texture, giving a fine counterpoint to the smoothness of the polished Ammonites within. Ammonite plaques are suitable for display upon a stand, or for wall mounting û a natural masterpiece. Make a statement with such an extraordinary work of art.
